Calcium Oxide, commonly known as quicklime or burnt lime, is a white or grayish-white alkaline solid widely used in industrial, environmental, and chemical applications. It is produced by thermally decomposing limestone (calcium carbonate, CaCO3) at high temperatures (900-1200°C).
