Description of C16-18 Cetearyl Alcohol

Cetearyl Alcohol is a white waxy solid mixture of cetyl and stearyl alcohol, insoluble in water but miscible with organic solvents like ethanol and mineral oil. It features excellent emulsifying, thickening and emollient properties, with high stability and mildness to the skin.

As a non-toxic, low-irritant raw material, it is widely used in cosmetics, detergents and other industrial fields for its good compatibility with various ingredients and ability to improve product texture and shelf life.

PApplications of C16-18 Cetearyl Alcohol

Cosmetics Field
It is applicable to all types of cosmetics as a base material, and is especially suitable for creams and lotions. Acting as an emulsifier, it effectively combines the oil and water phases to form a stable emulsion; as a thickener, it increases the viscosity of cosmetics for easier application; and as an emollient, it helps moisturize the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Meanwhile, it enhances the stability of cosmetics and extends their shelf life.

Detergent Field
It can be used as a raw material for producing alcohols, amides and sulfonated products, which are further applied in the manufacturing of detergents and cleaning products.

Other Fields
It is also usable as an antifoaming agent, soil and water humectant and color former, and can be employed in the preparation of textile auxiliaries.
